Yeguada de la Cartuja brings the sector together for its 6th Equine Reproduction Conference
Yeguada Cartuja Hierro del Bocado opens its doors to the sector this autumn: on 8 October it hosts the CENRE 6th Equine Reproduction Conference in Jerez, devoted to the stallion and to semen export, and at the same time it opens a survey on how equine welfare is understood and practised day to day.
6th Equine Reproduction Conference
On Thursday 8 October, Yeguada Cartuja Hierro del Bocado hosts the 6th Equine Reproduction Conference organised by CENRE, Spain's National Zootechnical Reference Centre, in Jerez de la Frontera. This edition focuses on two subjects that matter equally to breeders and vets: the stallion and semen export.
The programme brings together specialists in equine reproduction, breeding and the marketing of genetic material, with a deliberately multidisciplinary approach: from the clinical assessment of reproductive potential to the technical and administrative side of exporting, by way of the double demand placed on a stallion that also competes. The day closes with an open panel discussion.

Alongside the conference, Yeguada Cartuja Hierro del Bocado, as coordinating member of the SIBEQUUS Operational Group (Integrated Equine Welfare System), has launched a study to find out first-hand how animal welfare is understood and practised across the sector's different disciplines and activities.
The survey is open to everyone in the horse world, not only professionals: breeders, riders, vets, grooms, riding centres and enthusiasts. Whether you are an owner, a technician or simply someone who lives close to horses, your experience counts.
The aim is for the answers to help design practical protocols and digital tools that address real day-to-day needs rather than theoretical assumptions. It takes less than ten minutes to complete.
