Jerez: European Day of the Horse · September 2026

Jerez de la Frontera will join the European Day of the Horse with a special programme in September 2026. Promoted at a European level to celebrate the horse across the continent, this initiative aims to raise the profile of the horse's role in the culture, economy and heritage of our cities and countryside.

Jerez, a city built around the horse

Few cities in the world can boast such a close bond with the horse as Jerez. The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, the Yeguada Cartuja Hierro del Bocado, the Military Stud Farm, the Military Horse Breeding Centre, private studs, riding schools, livery yards and the whole equestrian community make Jerez a global reference point for horse culture.

The European Day of the Horse is an opportunity for the city to share that reality with the rest of Europe and for locals and visitors alike to get close to a living heritage that is part of the city's identity.
