Upcoming events at Yeguada Cartuja Hierro del Bocado: PDD, ANCCE PSCJ, 2nd Cartuja 3* Conformation Show, Noches de la Yeguada and Saturday visits
Yeguada Cartuja Hierro del Bocado brings together a packed equestrian programme in Jerez de la Frontera over the coming months: technical training, official ANCCE trials, an international conformation show and two unique visitor experiences to discover the legacy of the Carthusian horse.
PRE Southern Zone Sports Development Programme (PDD)
Organised by ANCCE at the facilities of Yeguada Cartuja Hierro del Bocado, the Southern Zone PDD will take place on 24 and 25 June, led by trainer Alberto García-Briñón.
The Sports Development Programme (PDD) has established itself as a key strategic initiative for the growth of the equestrian sector, specifically designed to boost and refine the performance of Dressage horse-and-rider pairs. Through a technical, practical and high-level approach, these training days give riders and their horses the key tools to optimise their individual abilities, polish technical details and correct specific faults before entering the competition arena.
The programme stands out for its ability to raise the sporting standard of participants, providing expert guidance from renowned trainers who steer the day-to-day work of breeding and sport. By focusing on the continuous improvement of results and the all-round preparation of the pair, the PDD not only acts as a driver of development for active riders but also becomes an invaluable platform for ensuring excellence, sporting progress and future competitiveness in the most demanding championships.
ANCCE Young Horse Selection Trials (PSCJ)
From 30 June to 2 July, ANCCE, once again in collaboration with Yeguada Cartuja, is organising these PSCJ for young horses at a reduced price, with the aim of increasing participation and the number of performance tests in the discipline of Dressage.
- Full Member: €50 incl. VAT.
- Associate Member: €75 incl. VAT.
- Non-members: €195 incl. VAT.
These prices include entry to the trials, as well as a stable and the first bedding.
Participation in these trials (which count as a CDN 3* towards the ANCCE Dressage Cup Final at SICAB) also qualifies for the Cycle Final. The trials run exactly as in the usual ANCCE Cup events (4-, 5-, 6- and 7-year-olds, Preliminary and Final).
2nd Cartuja 3* Conformation Show 2026
The 2nd Cartuja 3* Conformation Show 2026, to be held from 3 to 5 July in Jerez de la Frontera, is positioned as an absolutely key, top-level event for the equestrian sector, as it is essential for qualification for the Pura Raza Española (PRE) World Championship.
This prestigious event stands out for its exclusivity, being the only show of its category held anywhere in Andalusia during the three summer months, offering participating breeders the maximum points towards the SICAB 2026 final. With an estimated more than 100 horses in competition, the first two days will focus on judging 12 sections ranging from two-year-old fillies and colts to adult stallions and cobras (groups of mares), leaving the grand finale on 5 July for the thrilling contest for the special prizes and overall champion titles.
The show takes place at the exceptional, historic facilities of Finca Fuente del Suero, a privileged and easily accessible setting with a covered riding arena, training arenas, clinics and a museum dedicated to the legendary Carthusian horse.
The event is also establishing itself as an extraordinary, far-reaching advertising platform, backed by a massive impact of millions of impressions on social media, offering partner brands unique visibility through arena naming, digital campaigns and prominent presence in the live broadcast of the show.
Noches de la Yeguada
This is one of the most exclusive and evocative cultural and experiential offerings of the summer in the province of Cádiz. Set in the emblematic historic surroundings of Yeguada Cartuja, this event is not a simple night-time adaptation of its regular activities but a genuine original artistic creation conceived expressly to shine beneath the stars.
Through an immersive, magical atmosphere, the event masterfully blends a top-level equestrian show with lighting, music, innovative staging and the excellence of the Carthusian horse lineage. The evening offers an all-encompassing sensory experience that connects emotionally with the audience, further enriched by the framework of Jerez Gastronomic Capital 2026 through a carefully curated catering offer that showcases local produce.
As the perfect prelude to the main show, visitors can stroll through the Jardín de los Cartujanos, a unique natural setting offering a close-up look at the legacy of these historic horses. Following the resounding success of its first edition in 2025, when a single night was enough to sell out with more than 600 attendees from fifteen different autonomous communities, the four dates scheduled for this summer —spread across July and August— are set to be the definitive high-quality, sustainable tourism plan for rediscovering heritage, leisure and emotion in a truly unrivalled setting.

Saturday shows and visits
Unlike the summer nights, Yeguada Cartuja Hierro del Bocado opens its doors regularly for much of the year to offer its flagship experience: the Saturday Shows and Visits. This event, held every week without interruption from late March to mid-November, begins at 11:00 am and immerses visitors in an unforgettable journey through more than five centuries of equestrian history and tradition in Jerez de la Frontera.
The experience is notably complete and intimate, combining a fascinating, magical equestrian show —in which purebred Carthusian horses display all their beauty, strength and nobility in the arena— with an enriching guided tour of the estate's emblematic facilities. During the tour, visitors have the unique opportunity to see at first hand the daily life of the stud farm, the stables, the breeding centres and every detail surrounding the conservation of this genetic heritage, unique in the world.
It is, without doubt, a daytime experience of the highest cultural and tourism value, designed for the whole family and intended to reveal the true essence and soul of the legendary Carthusian horse in its own home.
