The Royal Andalusian School presents “Alma Ibérica” alongside the Escola Portuguesa de Arte Equestre

The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art (REAAE), a foundation under the Regional Ministry of Tourism and Andalusia Abroad of the Regional Government of Andalusia, has unveiled the show “Alma Ibérica”, a joint production with the Escola Portuguesa de Arte Equestre that will bring together the most emblematic numbers of both institutions in the same arena.

The show will take place in the Royal School's “Álvaro Domecq” indoor arena in Jerez de la Frontera on 19 and 20 June at 12:00 noon. Both Schools will also perform it at the Campo Pequeno bullring in Lisbon on 12 September at 6:00 pm.

These performances form part of the commemorative events marking the 40th anniversary of Spain and Portugal joining Europe, a historic milestone evoked through equestrian dance, flamenco and fado performed live.

The launch event was held in the Hall of Mirrors of the institution's palace, presided over by the director of the Royal School, Rafael Olvera, who encouraged everyone to attend “a show that promises to be breathtaking”.

The Royal Andalusian School's calendar: major equestrian events in Jerez

In addition to “Alma Ibérica”, the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art has several top-level events planned in Jerez over the coming months. Its 2026 competition calendar includes some of the most significant events on the national and international equestrian scene.

Among the highlights is the Working Equitation World Championship (WAWE), a competition of the highest international level that will place Jerez at the centre of the equestrian world during September. This is joined by the H.M. The King's Cup of Doma Vaquera and the Spanish Haute École championships, rounding off an autumn packed with activity at the Jerez institution's facilities.
