Parada Hípica 2026: route, times and participants of Jerez's equestrian parade
This Friday, 18 September, Jerez has a date with the horse. At 19:00 the Parada Hípica sets off from González Hontoria Park: a parade of around 80 horses and 15 carriages that will spend an hour and a half winding through the city centre.
To mark International Horse Week, Jerez City Council is holding the Parada Hípica on Friday 18 September: an equestrian parade through the streets that celebrates the city's horse tradition and strengthens the bond between Jerez and a sector that is part of its history, culture and identity.
The procession, made up of around 80 horses and 15 carriages, leaves González Hontoria Park at 19:00 and covers some 6.4 kilometres through the centre. At a walk, the route takes about an hour and a half.
Participants
Institutions, mounted units and organisations linked to the horse world will take part:
- Royal Guard: the Spanish Royal Household's honour unit, with riders and a horse-drawn artillery piece.
- Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art: with its gala horses, ambassadors of Jerez's equestrian art.
- Military Stud Farm (Cría Caballar): the Army's stud farm in Jerez, with its cobras of mares, a traditional image of the Andalusian countryside.
- National Police Cavalry Squadron: the mounted unit of Spain's National Police.
- Guardia Civil Cavalry Squadron: the mounted unit of the Guardia Civil.
- Portuguese National Republican Guard: Portugal's gendarmerie, the parade's international guest.
- Marbella Local Police Mounted Squadron: the mounted section of Marbella's municipal police.
- Jerez Local Police: the city's mounted police section.
- Yeguada de la Cartuja: the Hierro del Bocado stud, home of the Cartujano horse, with a four-in-hand carriage.
- Jerez Carriage Driving Club: horse-drawn carriages from Jerez enthusiasts and owners.
- Royal Carriage Driving Club of Andalusia: a reference body for traditional Andalusian carriage driving.
- Real Hermandad del Rocío de Jerez: the city's Rocío brotherhood, in its pilgrimage attire.

The best places to watch are the stretches through the historic centre, especially Calle Larga and the Rotonda de los Casinos, which the procession passes more than once, and Plaza del Arenal.
